Colombo, Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- Sri Lanka Army issued the following press release:
Under the guidance of the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 21 Infantry Division, the 212 Infantry Brigade conducted an eco-conscious initiative in line with the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign on 17 February 2025.
The programme, closely supervised by Brigadier B.A.M.P Balasooriya RSP, focused on removing non-biodegradable waste, including plastic, polythene, and glass, from the sacred city of Anuradhapura (Atamasthana), as well as the Thisa tank and Basawakkulama tank bunds.
Approximately 300 troops from the 212 and 213 Brigades and the Civil Security Department participated in the initiative.
