Hanoi, Vietnam, Jan. 6 -- Of the figure, the manufacturing and processing sector rose 10.5 percent, contributing 8.4 percentage points to the overall growth; the electricity production and distribution sector up 6.7 percent; the water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment sector up 7.8 percent; and mining sector up 0.5 percent.
During the year, there were 195,100 newly established enterprises nationwide, with total registered capital of VND 1,919.2 trillion (over US$73 billion), employing 1,151,400 workers, witnessing an increase of 24.1 percent in the number of enterprises, a 24.1 percent rise in registered capital, and a 15 percent increase in employment compared with the previous year.
