Hanoi, Vietnam, Dec. 15 -- The United Nations Human Rights Committee (HRC) convenes a meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 7-8 to review Viet Nam's fourth periodic report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).

The plan aims to build and develop programs to promote the implementation of gender equality and responses to gender-based violence; eliminate stereotypes and discrimination against women and other vulnerable groups (with particular attention to persons with disabilities, children, ethnic minorities, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons).
