Jakarta, Feb. 13 -- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao KimHourn,on 13 February 2026, participated in the Spotlight on Maritime Security, at the Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany. SG Dr. Kao highlighted that for regions like Southeast Asia and Europe, shaped by the sea, maritime security is inseparable from everyday life. Maritime security is a shared responsibility with challenges that are increasingly becoming more complex and interconnected. He also highlighted the importance of international law, cooperation, and dialogue to safeguarding our maritime spaces, from Southeast Asia to Europe.
