Hanoi, Vietnam, Jan. 6 -- The record foreign arrivals makes 2025 a golden year for the tourism sector.

Foreign arrivals by air exceeded 17.8 million, accounting for 84.3 percent and up 20.2 percent; by land nearly 3.1 million, making up 14.4 percent; and by sea 273,900, accounting for 1.3 percent.

Asia remained the largest source market with 16.6 million arrivals, making up 78.6 percent, followed by Europe with 2.8 million (13.1 percent), the Latin America with 1.1 million (5.2 percent), Oceania with 0.6 million (2.9 percent), and Africa with 56,000 (0.3 percent).

By country, China was Viet Nam's largest source market with 5.3 million arrivals, accounting for about one quarter of total foreign visitors. South Korea came second with 4.3 m...
