JAKARTA, April 29 -- The Second ASEAN Sectoral Bodies and the Stakeholders Consultative Workshops on the Consolidated Strategy on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) for ASEAN took place on 27 and 29 April, respectively, via videoconference.
In his remarks, Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Satvinder Singh noted that 'digital transformation is accelerating in the region, driven by our young demography, rising middle class, and fast-growing industry.'' ''Although representing only 7% of ASEAN's GDP, the region's digital economy is expected to accelerate, with uptake further boosted by the necessity during the pandemic,'' he added.
