NEW DELHI, June 26 -- US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who arrived in India on June 25, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Wednesday. It was the first high-level US visit since Modi: 2.0 assumed office in end May.

On the bilateral agenda of talks were trade issues after the US withdrawal of the generalised system of preferences (GSP), relations with Iran, H-1B visas and India's purchase of S-400 missile defence systems from Russia.

Pompeo's visit and talks come ahead of a meeting scheduled between US President Donald Trump and Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, on June 28-29.
