Hyderabad, May 24 -- Independent journalist Omar Rashid, who often writes for news media organisations such as The Wire, Outlook and The Hindu, among a few, has been charged with serious allegations of physical, sexual and mental abuse by a woman who shared her ordeal via a social media post.

So far, no police complaint has been filed. However, on Friday, May 23, the National Commission for Women issued a notice to the Delhi Police to take immediate action against the journalist.
