Hyderabad, March 11 -- As part of an ongoing initiative to protect public health, the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has tightened its vigil against unqualified medical practitioners in the state. Recently, the council booked 12 Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs) who were practicing outside their lawful domain.
In thecity ofHyderabadalone, eightsuchcases werebooked against RMPs,highlighting the problemof unqualifiedpractitioners in urbansetups.
Threesuchcases werebooked in Sangareddy,citingthenecessitytocrackdownseriouslyin ruralsetups.Oneeach wasbookedatBanswada and Kamareddy,revealingtheprevalenceof spuriousmedicineeven inmedium-sizedtowns.
