Hyderabad, Aug. 30 -- A startling revelation has come forward stating that over Rs 15.54 crore of taxpayers' money was spent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official visit to Saudi Arabia in April this year.

This was revealed by the Consulate General of India in Jeddahin response to an RTI (Right to Information) reply filed by activist Ajay Basudev Bosefrom Maharashtra.

Sharing the details in his X post, the activist said it was shocking for the Central government to spend over Rs 10 crore on hotel bookings alone. "What the Consulate has provided shows that the government spent an unusually high amount on just a few hours in Jeddah," Bose told reporters.
