Hyderabad, Aug. 27 -- Heavy rains in Telangana since Tuesday night, August 26, have caused severe flooding in Kamareddy district with reports of people being trapped in their houses and trains being suspended as tracks have been washed away.

The overflowing Kamareddy Pedda Cheruvu has flooded the Housing Board Colony with reports of houses being submerged trapping over 50 residents in their houses while fifteen cars and twelve bikes have reportedly been washed away in the floods.

People in the flood affected areas are reaching out for relief measures as floodwater from the Pedda Cheruvu is posing an increasing threat.
