Hyderabad: "When I wore the Khada dupatta (upright stole) at my wedding, a garment passed on to brides in the family, I didn't give it a lot of though. But it was at once desired by everyone," remarked Sahebzadi Feroze Jahan Begum, the great granddaughter of last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan.

For Feroze, that marked a moment of realisation. She remarks that she felt responsible not just to honour her heritage and that of Hyderabad's but also renovate fashion.

"Fashion can be traced back to our heritage," she remarks. "Hyderabad's sixth Nizam Mahbub Ali Pasha played a key role in the evolution of modern day Sherwani."
