New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), through its Chairman and Managing Director Amarendu Prakash, is advancing its green steel initiatives by conducting hydrogen-based steelmaking trials, alongside efforts in carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), biochar injection, and renewable energy.

Guided by the National Steel Policy 2017, SAIL is incorporating green technologies into future projects and emphasizes its role in nation-building, including supplying critical-grade steel for Indian Navy warships, thereby supporting import substitution and self-reliance through initiatives like 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India'. Prakash expressed confidence in SAIL's readiness for future growth.
