India, Dec. 27 -- Indian Railways operated over 43,000 special train trips in 2025 to accommodate increased passenger demand during major festivals and peak seasons.

Key operations included 17,340 trips for Maha Kumbh, 1,144 trips for Holi, and 12,417 Summer Special trips. Enhanced services for Chhath Puja amounted to 12,383 trips.

This expansion reflects a commitment to ensuring smooth travel and passenger comfort, built on the operational framework established in 2024, which included 326 and 604 special trips for Aastha Special services and Holi, respectively.
