India, Feb. 2 -- Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone by commissioning 472.3 route kilometres of Kavach Version 4.0, the Automatic Train Protection System, across three sections: Vadodara-Virar (344 km), Tuglakabad Junction Cabin-Palwal (35 km), and Manpur-Sarmatanr (93.3 km).
This represents the highest route kilometres of Kavach commissioned in a single day and increases total coverage to 1,306.3 route kilometres across five railway zones. The commissioning enhances safety and operational reliability, particularly on the busy Tuglakabad-Palwal corridor, which is vital for passenger and freight traffic.
