India, Feb. 13 -- India's passport has risen to 75th position on the Henley Passport Index, up from 85th last year, indicating improved international access for Indian travelers, who can now visit 56 countries visa-free or with visa-on-arrival.
Despite this positive change, India's overall passport performance has been inconsistent, with its historical peak ranking being 71st in 2006.
The top-ranked passport belongs to Singapore, granting access to 192 destinations, followed by Japan and South Korea at 187 each. Other notable passport holders include several European nations and countries like Australia, the UK, Canada, and New Zealand in the top 10.
