Kochi, Dec. 16 -- Indian Navy has commissioned the DSC A20, the first of five indigenously developed Diving Support Crafts (DSC), at a ceremony in Kochi.

This craft significantly enhances the Navy's capabilities in diving support, underwater inspections, salvage operations, and coastal deployments. Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena presided over the event, which included dignitaries from Titagarh Rail System Limited, the builder of the DSC.

The Ministry of Defence contracted TRSL for the construction on February 12, 2021. The vessel, a 390-ton catamaran-hull ship, was designed following the Indian Register of Shipping classification standards and equipped with advanced diving technology.
