India, Nov. 29 -- Operation Sagar Bandhu sees India airlifting 12 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Colombo in response to Cyclone Ditwah, which has caused casualties and significant damage in Sri Lanka.

An Indian Air Force C-130 J plane delivered tents, tarpaulins, blankets, hygiene kits, and ready-to-eat food. Prior to this, India sent additional relief supplies via naval ships, including 4.5 tonnes of dry and 2 tonnes of fresh rations.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and commitment to support the affected families, emphasizing India's "Neighbourhood First" policy.
