Abu Dhabi, Nov. 4 -- Indias new Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Pavan Kapoor has assumed office at the country's Embassy here, the media reported on Friday.
In a tweet, the Embassy welcomed Kapoor and announced that he had commenced his first day on Thursday in office by offering floral tributes to a Mahatma Gandhi bust which was unveiled as part of his 150th birth anniversary, Gulf News reported.
"Embassy warmly welcomes our new Ambassador Pavan Kapoor. @Ambkapoor commenced his first day in office by offering floral tributes to #MahatmaGandhi," the tweet said.
The Indian Consulate in Dubai also welcomed the Ambassador.
