India, Dec. 15 -- India's energy sector has transformed from scarcity to surplus, with a focus on sustainability, according to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.
He emphasized that this change results from a clear vision and execution, predicting that by 2047, India's energy sector will serve as a global model. Key achievements include record coal production, a 46-fold increase in solar capacity, and substantial wind capacity growth.
Goyal highlighted five pillars of the transformation: universal access, affordability, availability with reduced shortages, financial viability through reforms, and sustainability by fulfilling Paris Agreement goals, with a notable share of power from non-fossil sources.
