India, Jan. 3 -- India is currently generating 920 tonnes per day (TPD) of energy from 132 compressed biogas plants, as stated by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Highlighting the success of the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative, he noted the conversion of farm waste into clean fuel, contributing to rural income and reduced emissions.

The energy infrastructure includes 33 crore Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) households, 1.58 crore piped natural gas (PNG) homes, and 8,428 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations, underpinned by a 25,429 km pipeline network.
