India, Feb. 11 -- India has improved by 79 ranks in the World Bank's ease of doing business (EoDB) index over the last five years.
This rise follows the discontinuation of the Doing Business Report, with the World Bank launching the B-Ready Assessment in 2024 to evaluate countries on various business lifecycle topics. India is expected to feature in the upcoming Third B-Ready Report in 2026.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has implemented initiatives like the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) to enhance the business climate, including streamlining regulations and digitalizing processes.
