India, Jan. 28 -- India and Canada have signed a joint statement to enhance energy cooperation during India Energy Week 2026 in Goa.

This agreement, following a meeting between India's Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Canada's Energy Minister Timothy Hodgson, aims to strengthen ties in oil, gas, clean energy, and investments.

Both ministers launched the renewed India-Canada Ministerial Energy Dialogue, focusing on energy security and diversified supply chains for economic growth. Canada seeks to expand its energy exports, while India, the third-largest oil consumer, aims to boost its energy market influence.
