India, Feb. 16 -- India has achieved a record addition of 52,537 MW of electricity generation capacity in just 10 months of FY 2026, reflecting an 11% increase from the previous year.
Of this, 39,657 MW comes from renewable sources, including 34,955 MW of solar and 4,613 MW of wind power.
The total installed capacity now stands at 520,510.95 MW, with non-fossil fuel sources making up 50% of this capacity. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi emphasized India's commitment to reach 500 GW of non-fossil power by 2030 and achieve Net Zero emissions by 2070.
