India, Jan. 25 -- European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen were warmly welcomed in New Delhi for the 77th Republic Day celebrations, marking their roles as Chief Guests.

Union Minister Jitin Prasada greeted Costa at the airport, highlighting the significance of the India-EU partnership. Costa expressed honor in attending the 16th EU-India Summit, emphasizing collaboration across multiple sectors.

The summit, hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to strengthen the EU-India strategic partnership and will cover trade, security, and global issues, including the ongoing free trade agreement negotiations that began in 2007.
