India, Jan. 29 -- Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are pivotal to India's economy, contributing approximately 35.4% of manufacturing, 48.58% of exports, and 31.1% of GDP, according to the Economic Survey 2025-26.
The Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund, established with a capital of Rs 50,000 crore, has invested Rs 15,442 crore in 682 MSMEs as of November 30, 2025. With over 7.47 crore MSMEs employing 32.82 crore individuals, this sector is the second-largest employer in India.
