New Delhi, Dec. 1 -- Ashwini Vaishnaw, India's Union Minister for Railways, conducted an inspection of the redevelopment of Chandigarh Railway Station, which is being transformed into a world-class facility at a cost of rs 462 crores.

The project incorporates innovative modular design and aims to enhance passenger amenities and connectivity, serving as a key gateway for travelers to Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

During the visit, Vaishnaw also inspected the Semi-conductor Laboratory in Mohali, announcing a modernization and expansion investment of rs 4500 crores. He engaged with railway staff on maintenance challenges and best practices during the window-trailing inspection from New Delhi to Chandigarh.
