India, June 24 -- In a dramatic development in the case of two women being allegedly misbehaved in Odisha's Jajpur district, one of the accused reportedly tried to end his life by consuming the fruit of oleander plant.

As per reports, a police team raided the house of Anil Jena, the accused, last night to apprehend him, during which he took the extreme step.

He was rescued by police and admitted to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

Efforts were on by the police to trace and arrest another accused, identified as Nitesh Jena.

On the other hand, Anil claimed he had no involvement in the misbehaviour case.
