Bargarh, April 11 -- An unidentified truck allegedly mowed down three workers to death on National Highway near Luhurachati in Sohela area of Odisha's Bargarh district, late last night.

As per reports, the mishap took place when the three were engaged in a work related to the highway. The vehicle ran over the trio, killing them on the spot.

The driver of the truck fled the scene in the vehicle after the accident.

Police, on being informed, reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent those for post-mortem.

Though police were yet to reveal the identities of the deceased, two of them were from Sohela while one hailed from Cuttack.

Efforts were on by cops to trace the truck and its driver.
