Remuneration of self-employed mechanics in Odisha hiked by 62.5 percent
Bhubaneswar, Feb. 23 -- In a significant move benefiting self-employed mechanics in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a substantial 62.5 percent increase in their remuneration.
As per a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the remuneration for self-employed mechanics working in the gram panchayats of the state has been raised from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 6,500.
Around 13,000 self-employed mechanics across the state will benefit from this move of the government.
This decision comes following requests and suggestions received from self-employed mechanics and representatives during the visit of Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, to various districts.
