India, March 20 -- In response to the ongoing heatwave, the Odisha Government rescheduled school timings for both Government and private-run institutions.
Effective immediately, classes for students from Class I to XII will now run from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM to help mitigate the effects of extreme heat.
Shalini Pandit, Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, instructed District Collectors to closely monitor weather conditions and adjust school schedules accordingly based on local circumstances.
