Bhubaneswar, Feb. 14 -- Encouraging sportspersons to perform better, the Odisha Government announced cash rewards for the athletes who clinched medal at the recently concluded 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.

The Government will give away cash prizes of Rs.6 lakh for gold medalists, Rs.4 lakh for silver medalists and Rs.3 lakh for the bronze medalists.

Athletes from Odisha won a total of 46 medals, including 14 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze at the 38th National Games. The state secured the 12th position in the final ranking list and placed itself among the top 15 in the country.
