Malkangiri, Jan. 4 -- Two police teams from Malkangiri district in Odisha and Sukma district in neighbouring Chhattisgarh today held a coordination meeting to curb Maoist activities in both states, ahead of the upcoming General Elections this year.

The senior police officials discussed ongoing ultra activities in the bordering areas and decided on strategic plans to restrain the red rebels, who are active in these areas.

The high-level meeting was held in Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Office. Sukma Additional SP Akash Markam, Malkangiri Additional SP (Operation) Manoj Singh, DSP Jadumani Jena, SDPO Sachin Patel, Mathili PS IIC Debadatta Mallik and several other senior officials took part in the discussion.
