Bhubaneswar, May 26 -- Some supporters of BJP allegedly attacked the vehicle of BJD leader and Pipli MLA Rudra Pratap Maharathy at Nimapara in Odisha's Puri district today.

The incident took place while Maharathy, who has been appointed as an election coordinator of BJD for Nimapara Assembly constituency, was returning home after attending a party meeting at Tampalo in the evening.

Some BJP supporters attacked Maharathy's car near Terundia panchayat under Nimapara constituency. However, the Pipli legislator and his driver managed to escape without any injury.

A complaint in this regard was lodged with Nimapara police. The cops have arrested two BJP workers in connection with the incident.
