Bhubaneswar, April 20 -- Amid the searing heat wave across Odisha, Commissionerate Police has come up with a new initiative to bring some respite to the Traffic personnel in the State Capital.

Taking a cue from Gujarat Police, the Commisionerate Police has introduced cooling helmets for traffic personnel who have to stand for long hours under the scorching sun. The helmets are battery-operated and once charged, will last for nearly eight hours. The head gear will circulate cool air to combat the searing heat and humidity outside and make it easier for the Traffic police to carry on with their duties without facing the cruel onslaught of the rising mercury.
