Bhubaneswar, April 26 -- There was no respite from the intense heatwave condition in Odisha as the mercury crossed 42 Degree Celsius at 20 places across the state on Friday.

Angul town recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44.6 Degree C in the state today, said the IMD. Boudh recorded the second highest temperature of 44.5 Degree C, it added.

The maximum temperature was 44 Degree C at two places-Nuapada and Balangir-in Odisha on Friday, said the IMD regional centre in its weather report.

At least eight places in the state-Baripada, Titlagarh, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Hirakud, Jharsuguda, Talcher and Dhenkanal-recorded the maximum temperature in between 43 and 44 Degree C.
