Bhubaneswar, Nov. 27 -- Hours after being arrested, IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak and his son Akash Kumar Pathak were today sent to jail in Odisha capital.

The father-son duo was produced before the Special Vigilance Court, which rejected their bail plea and remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days at the Jharpada Special Jail here.

The two have been arrested by the Vigilance for allegedly massing assets worth crores disproportionate to their known sources of income.

The Vigilance officials have so far recovered Rs 60 lakhs cash, gold ornaments weighing 800 grams, documents relating to purchase of gold worth Rs 23 lakhs, costly vehicles and huge money deposits following searches at different places in Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, and Pune...
