Bhubaneswar, April 18 -- The day temperature continued to exceed 40 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar, making it the hottest place in Odisha for the second time in the month of April.

By 2.30 pm today, the capital city of Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 43.6 degree Celsius followed by Jharsuguda (42.6 degree C) and Balasore (42.2 degree C), according to IMD.

Besides, five other places stood above 40 degree Celsius in Odisha. While Sambalpur recorded 41.7 degree C, Hirakud recorded 41.4 degree C, Chandbali 41.4 degree C, Keonjhar 40.9 degree C and Rourkela 40.2 degree C.

The day temperature in Paradeep, Puri and Gopalpur was 36.3 degree C, 35 degree C and 34.8 degree C respectively by 2.30 pm today.
