Bhubaneswar, Sept. 30 -- Former president of Odisha Khadi & Village Industries Board, Tejeswar Parida, today resigned from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) citing personal reasons.

He tendered his resignation to BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik through an email.

"I express my inability to continue to serve the party because of many pressing reasons at a personal level, that require my attention and time, which I am not in a position to neglect. So, I hereby tender my resignation from the primary membership of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) with immediate effect," Parida wrote to the party president.

Parida had served the BJD as the party observer in different districts, as a member of media panel and contributed to strengthen the party.
