Bhubaneswar, July 19 -- The state government has set a target to provide as many as 10,000 cows of high milk yielding breeds to the dairy farmers under the Kamadhenu Yojana in Odisha.
This was revealed by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi at an event in Odisha's Cuttack district today. Majhi inaugurated several projects of the Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (OMFED) on the occasion.
"The state government will provide incentives to raise milk production in Odisha as part of its efforts to develop the dairy sector," said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister inaugurated three milk powder packaging machines at OMFED plant at Arilo in Cuttack district. The machines have been installed with an expenditure of Rs 3.50 crore.
