Sundargarh, May 17 -- A BJP leader was caught red-handed while distributing cash for votes in favour of the party's MLA candidate Kusum Tete in Sundargarh district.

According to reports, a special squad caught Bhimasen Nayak, who was the BJP's Zilla Parishad candidate during Odisha Panchayat Elections 2022, while he was distributing cash along with one Krupasindhu Dubey at Kainsara village under Bhasma police limits.

The special squad seized Rs 2.42 lakh cash, an empty envelope, a notepad and a voters' list from the accused's vehicle.

Nayak is stated to be a close aide of BJP's Sundargarh MLA candidate Kusum Tete.
