Bhubaneswar, June 4 -- With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to form the government in Odisha with a simple majority ousting Naveen Patnaik-led BJD's 24-year rule, many heavyweights in state politics lost and won the elections this time.

While BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik retained his Hinjili seat, the 5-time MLA lost to BJP's Laxman Bag with a margin of over 15,000 votes in the Assembly Elections-2024, as per ECI's latest data.

Several BJD leaders including Susanta Singh, Sanjay Das Burma, Debi Prasad Mishra and Bikram Keshari Arukha bit the dust in the polls due to 'anti-incumbency' factor.
