India, June 10 -- Acting on the directive of Odisha Governor, Hari Babu Kambhampati, the State Government has suspended IAS officer Dhiman Chakma with immediate effect. The suspension follows his arrest on bribery charges.

In exercise of powers conferred under Sub Rule 3 of Rule of 3 of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1969, the Odisha Governor placed Chakma under suspension with immediate effect.

During the period of suspension, the headquarters of Chakma is fixed at the General Administration and Public Grievance department, Bhubaneswar. He has been asked not leave the headquarters without prior permission.
