Bhubaneswar, June 11 -- With a simple majority in 2024 Assembly elections in Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to form its government for the first time in the state.

With a total 81 MLAs (78 BJP and 3 legislators), a team of BJP leaders headed by newly elected Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi met Odisha Governor Raghubar Das at Raj Bhawan to stake claim to form the first BJP government in Odisha.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and BJP's Odisha in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar were part of the delegation.
