Bhubaneswar, April 20 -- Two Odisha towns today recorded the highest maximum temperature of 45.2 Degree Celsius in the country.

Baripada and Boudh in Odisha with the highest maximum temperature of 45.2 Degree C were the hottest places in India today, said the IMD.

The maximum temperature was 44.6 Degree C at Bankura and 44.5 Degree C at Midnapore in West Bengal.

As per the IMD weather report, the mercury crossed 43 Degree C at 14 places across the country.

The maximum temperature crossed 43 Degree C at seven places in Odisha, four places in West Bengal, two places in Jharkhand and one place in Chhattisgarh, said the IMD.
