India, April 23 -- Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corporation (WAB) jumped 7.84 percent to $185.23, gaining $13.47 during Wednesday's trading, after reporting better than expected results for the first quarter. Net income rose to $327 million from $277 million a year earlier, while net sales increased to $2.61 billion from $2.50 billion.
The stock has traded between $179.79 and $191.74 so far today, up from a previous close of $171.76 on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume has reached over 1.02 million shares, compared to the average volume of 1.18 million.
WAB is currently trading closer to the upper end of its 52-week range of $147.66 to $210.88.
