India, Feb. 7 -- New Jersey-based Turkana Food Inc. is recalling Aleppo Tahini Sesame Paste due to potential contamination with Salmonella, as announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The recall was initiated after the routine sampling by the Ohio Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in the finished products. The company has stopped production and distribution while investigating the cause along with the FDA.

The recall includes 858 cases of 1lb or 16oz plastic jars with a gold lid and gold label marked Aleppo Tahini Sesame Paste.

The product has lot number # 120824-01 with the UPC Label 854643003054. The expiration date is August 2026.

The recalled products were distributed in the states of FL, KY, VA, NY, NJ, TN, MA, ...
