India, June 5 -- Taiwan consumer price inflation moderated further in May to the lowest level in more than four years, data released by the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics showed on Thursday.
The consumer price index, or CPI, rose 1.55 percent year-on-year in May, slower than the 2.03 percent rise in April.
Further, this was the slowest inflation rate since March 2021, when prices had risen 1.22 percent.
Food inflation eased to 3.1 percent from 4.3 percent. Housing costs increased at a slightly slower pace of 1.8 percent versus a 1.9 percent rise seen in April. Meanwhile, transportation and communication costs continued to drop by 1.6 percent.
