India, May 5 -- Sterling Construction Co. Inc. (STRL) released earnings for its first quarter that increased from last year and beat the Street estimates.
The company's bottom line totaled $39.48 million, or $1.28 per share. This compares with $31.05 million, or $1.00 per share, last year.
Excluding items, Sterling Construction Co. Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $50.24 million or $1.63 per share for the period.
Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $1.45 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
