India, Aug. 22 -- California-based Southwind Foods, LLC is recalling a limited quantity of Frozen Shrimp due to potential radionuclide Cesium-137 contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA said it is investigating reports of Cesium-137 contamination in shipping containers and frozen shrimp products processed by Indonesia-based PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati, which operates as BMS Foods.
Retail major Walmart earlier this week had pulled certain frozen shrimp products from its shelves in 13 states after U.S. regulators detected traces of Cesium-137 in shipments originated from BMS Foods.
